Superpowers Community Engineer

Full-time SF Bay Area preferred; US-remote possible

The short version

We're looking for someone whose primary job is looking after Superpowers and the community around it. Superpowers is an open-source skills and workflow system for AI coding agents — Claude Code, Codex, and others. With over 220,000 stars, Superpowers is one of the all-time most starred projects on GitHub and is relied on by everyone from solo developers to large engineering organizations.

That reach comes with a firehose: a busy tracker, an active Discord, and discussions across the internet. We're looking for someone to help us manage and grow the Superpowers community, help us wrangle contributions, and make sure Superpowers continues to work well for users of all experience levels.

This is a community role, but it is not a marketing role. It sits somewhere between DevRel, community management, and engineering.

What you'll do

  • You will own the day-to-day of the Superpowers open-source community: triage issues, review contributions, work with the team to merge the good PRs, and work with contributors and community members to make sure that issues and proposed PRs that aren't yet a good fit for Superpowers get shepherded.
  • Run the Discord and other community channels.
  • Feed everything you learn back into the product and the team.
  • Collaborate with team members on bringing Superpowers to new harnesses, and making it more cost effective, capable, and enjoyable to use.

Who we're looking for

  • You can write. You should be able to communicate well in writing. Almost everything you will be doing will involve some form of writing.
  • You enjoy working with AI. This is an AI job. If you're not sure you want to spend all your time working with AI, this might not be a fun job for you.
  • You like talking with people. A lot of what you'll be doing involves talking to folks who are using Superpowers to build things. One of the amazing things about the Superpowers community is that the folks using it to build come from all kinds of backgrounds. You should be able to meet them where they are.
  • You build stuff. We're looking for someone who likes to tinker and experiment, even if it's not your day job today.
  • You're a self-starter. We're a tiny team and there's an unlimited amount of work to go around. You're the kind of person who looks around for things that need doing and does them.
  • You've seen some stuff. Your decisions will ship to a lot of people's machines, so we care about judgment — knowing when to merge, when to wait, and when to ask for help.
  • You use agents to do things. You should be comfortable prompting your agents to take work off your plate.

You might have more of an engineering background. You might have more of a community background.

This is a somewhat non-traditional role and we're happy to consider non-traditional candidates. We do not have specific degree requirements for this role, especially if you have relevant experience. We don't need to know about your professional certifications. We do want to hear about open source or other large-scale community projects you've participated actively in.

About the job

  • Location: SF Bay Area preferred; US-remote possible for the right candidate. We're unable to sponsor visas at this time
  • Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.
  • Level: We're looking for the right person. We'll work with you to match comp and job description to where you are.

How to apply

Email your resume and the prompt you would use to generate your cover letter to work@primeradiant.com. (It's ok to include a traditional cover letter, too. But we do want to see how you think about prompting.)

If you've used Superpowers, we'd love to know that. If you have a GitHub account, point us to it. If you've made something awesome (with or without AI) that you want to share with us, please send it along.
