serf learns task dependencies, sprout tunes for mixed models, slackline and knowledge-graph arrive
A week about coordination — between tasks, between models, and between tools. serf built a dependency graph into its task system, sprout spent 131 commits making delegation reliable when different models play different roles, and two brand-new repos appeared: slackline, a command-line Slack client, and knowledge-graph, a local note-vault indexer.

prime-radiant-inc/sprout
A self-improving agent framework that detects its own failures and rewrites its genome to avoid them.
131 commits, almost all in service of one problem: making delegation reliable when a cheaper model does the work a stronger model planned. The recurring fix was faithful information flow — preserving exact literals through orchestrator, engineer, and worker prompts; carrying prerequisite and decisive execution facts into delegated work; and not re-checking facts already established. It also delayed the verifier until implementation evidence actually exists and trimmed noisy helper-capability probes. Much of the week is documented as “mixed-model regression cycles” — measured runs against the harbor eval harness.

An agent framework in Go — this week, its task-tracking system.
87 commits centered on task dependencies: a DependsOn field on tasks with ID validation and cycle rejection, a NextEligible method and progress summary, and dependencies carried through into the compaction snapshot. Around it came a task-reminder system wired into the session loop, and a steady thread of prompt engineering in core.md — pre/post-implementation checks, broader test discovery, delegation-strategy guidance, and a pass to say the same things in fewer bytes. (Line counts are suppressed this week: a revert-of-a-revert nets to roughly zero but dominates the raw diff.)
prime-radiant-inc/slackline
A command-line Slack client in Go — list channels, read threads, send-and-wait, and stream events.
A new project from staff engineer Drew Ritter: 48 commits from design spec to a tagged v0.1.0. Built on cobra and slack-go, it grew commands for listing channels, reading channel and thread history, an “ask” send-and-wait-for-reply workflow, interactive token setup, admin app provisioning, and a listen command that streams events over Socket Mode as JSONL. The work was decomposed into five parallel waves and includes a full distribution spec.

obra/knowledge-graph
A local note-vault indexer that builds a searchable knowledge graph, with an MCP server.
A new repo, 26 commits: it parses an Obsidian-style vault (frontmatter, wiki links, inline tags), stores it in SQLite with FTS5 and sqlite-vec, generates embeddings locally with transformers.js, and runs graph operations — paths, communities, centrality — via graphology. It exposes a 10-command CLI, an MCP server, and a Claude Code plugin with a “prove-claim” skill that does provenance checking.
