gauntlet reaches v1.5, hearthstone grows an admin and locks down
Two heavyweights defined the week. gauntlet landed its v1.5 transition — server-owned runs, a real configuration system, and per-run browser isolation — across sixty-nine commits. hearthstone matured on the operations side: an admin console, house deletion with proper 410 Gone semantics, token-bucket rate limiting, a security pass that stopped leaking owner PINs, and a relicense to Apache 2.0. Elsewhere, a new kindle-highlight-exporter turned Kindle annotations into Markdown, and superpowers built tooling to mirror itself as a Codex plugin.

prime-radiant-inc/gauntlet
An AI-powered QA testing framework.
69 commits +17,826 −3,648Sixty-nine commits drove the v1.5 transition. Runs became server-owned — an ActiveRunRegistry tracks in-flight runs, execution detaches behind a 202, and a fresh WebSocket connection receives a snapshot on open — with the UI rebuilt around URL-driven live runs and run IDs as the primary identity. A real configuration system landed alongside: an AppConfig type with precedence and source tracking, a gauntlet config subcommand, a /api/config/effective inspection endpoint, and loud rejection of unknown CLI flags. v1.5 itself brought a context module, per-run browser isolation, profiles with passkey support, and hardened HTTP/CLI boundary validation. Matt Windbrook drove the week; Simon Willison contributed two commits.
prime-radiant-inc/hearthstone
A household knowledge assistant — a retrieval service over your own documents, with an iOS client and a guest-sharing model.
70 commits +16,286 −3,484Seventy commits shifted hearthstone toward operability and safety. A shareable join flow arrived — join_urls, a /join/:pin landing page, and QR codes that encode them — alongside an admin console (a boot-minted admin token, a requireAdmin middleware, and an admin UI) for managing houses. House deletion was built out carefully: cascade deletes, 410 Gone for removed houses (which the app detects and prunes from its sidebar), and a last-owner guard. A token-bucket rate limiter landed with tiered limits, Fly/XFF client-IP resolution, and an admin panel for live throttles. A security pass scrubbed placeholder emails from API responses and stopped leaking owner PINs to an external QR-code service by rendering QR codes server-side. And the project relicensed to Apache 2.0. Sole contributor: Matt Windbrook.

prime-radiant-inc/kindle-highlight-exporter
A bookmarklet that scrapes your Kindle highlights and notes and exports them as Markdown.
40 commits 1 PR +6,156 −878New this week: a bookmarklet that scrapes the Kindle notebook — the book list, then per-book highlights and notes with library pagination — formats a Markdown file per book, packages them into a zip organized by author, and triggers a download, with a progress overlay throughout. A branded GitHub Pages install page ships the bookmarklet. Jesse Vincent did nearly all of it; Simon Willison contributed one commit.
obra/superpowers
An agentic skills framework and software-development methodology.
16 commits 10 PRs +995 −243Sixteen commits, mostly tooling to mirror superpowers as a Codex plugin — a sync tool that clones the fork, opens a PR, and regenerates overlays inline — plus terminology and README cleanups. arittr did the bulk of the sync work, with Jesse Vincent alongside and one commit from outside contributor shaanmajid.
obra/superpowers-chrome
A Claude Code plugin for direct Chrome control via the DevTools Protocol.
5 commits 🏷 2 releases +390 −106Two releases (v1.11.0, v1.12.0): visibility-aware element selection that prefers visible elements over hidden ones, an evaluate() that now awaits async expressions, a crash fix when Chrome returns a non-array tabs response, and human_type merged into the plain type action. Sole contributor: Jesse Vincent.
prime-radiant-inc/serf
An agent runtime and subagent orchestration layer.
11 commitsEleven commits of workflow and runtime tuning: experiment-driven parameter tuning and provider expansion, a “deslopification” and prompt-cleanup pass, a requirement that every runtime issue communicate tool calls, simplified subagent orchestration, and a transcript viewer added to serf-tui. Sole contributor: Jesse Vincent. (Line counts are omitted here — generated and data files dominate the diff.)
prime-radiant-inc/clearance
A macOS Markdown app.
5 commits 2 PRs 🏷 2 releases +338 −17Two point releases (v1.3.2, v1.3.3) fixing macOS WKWebView print-modal handling and local image loading. Sole contributor: Jesse Vincent.
A few smaller changes closed out the week: LLM.swift exposed context-prefill APIs on LLMCore; iterative-development added engineering principles to its implementer and code-quality reviewer prompts; superpowers-marketplace tracked the superpowers-chrome releases; and superpowers-testing landed a single commit adding Codex plugin support.
