books-for-bots arrives, episodic-memory hotfixes
Two things anchor the week. episodic-memory — the memory/recall layer for coding-agent sessions — shipped three tagged releases in seven days, the last of them an emergency hotfix for a recursive process cascade. And books-for-bots appeared from nothing: a Rust CLI that flattens an EPUB into a single YAML-headed Markdown file with per-chapter byte and line offsets, giving an agent a navigation API for token-efficient reading. Around the two, outside contributors turned up early — one-PR fixes on episodic-memory and the bulk of a whole fork’s week on ghost-pepper.

obra/episodic-memory
A memory and recall layer for coding-agent sessions — searchable session history with semantic recall.
11 commits 2 PRs 🏷 3 releases +24,591 −10,292Three tagged releases in one week (v1.1.0 → v1.1.1 → v1.1.2), the last a same-day emergency hotfix for a recursive process cascade. The feature work: search filters by project, session, and git branch; a schema migration; and a summarizer-hygiene pass that stopped polluting ~/.claude/projects with summarizer session JSONLs and added a cascade-delete on the tool-calls foreign key. v1.1.1 folded version numbers down to a single source of truth. Jesse Vincent drove the week; two outside contributors each landed a PR — Matt Van Horn (mvanhorn) fixed an npm-install flag, and Asish Kumar (officialasishkumar) fixed Windows SessionStart-hook path quoting.
prime-radiant-inc/books-for-bots
A Rust CLI that converts EPUBs into a single YAML-headed Markdown file with per-chapter byte and line offsets — a navigation API that lets an LLM agent read a book token-efficiently.
44 commits +10,959 −288New this week, and shipped a full v1 in a single push: heading and whitespace normalization, duplicate-heading and running-header detection, cross-chapter link slugging, byte/line offset verification, and a determinism test that runs the conversion twice and asserts the output is byte-identical. Project Gutenberg’s Alice in Wonderland rides along as the in-repo example. Sole contributor: Jesse Vincent.
Also shipped
obra/ghost-pepper
Hold-to-talk speech-to-text for macOS — 100% local, WhisperKit plus local-LLM cleanup.
63 commits +12,602 −1,306A big week for a fork with genuine ahead-of-parent work. An agentic meeting-Q&A mode landed — a tool-using agent (grep / read-file / list-dir, path-sandboxed to the archive root) that answers questions across loaded transcripts over Anthropic’s Messages API with SSE accumulation — alongside a people-and-meeting indexing system (incremental index builder, sidebar browsing, markdown “dossier” pages with wikilinks and a two-step LLM-merge “apply to dossier” flow), Google Calendar OAuth for a today’s-meetings list, and a Cmd+K command palette. Outside contributor Matt Hartman (matthartman) did the overwhelming majority of the work; Jesse Vincent contributed a handful of commits, including merging a diarization duplicate-speakers fix and a sidebar-hit-target PR from Matt Van Horn (mvanhorn, also outside).
obra/superpowers
An agentic skills framework and software-development methodology.
1 commit 11 PRs +60 −0Eleven PRs merged this week. (The per-week commit rollup reads empty — the underlying commit dates fall just outside the window even though the merges landed inside it — so the credit here is by each PR’s actual author, not the commit tally.) The shipped work: Gemini CLI subagent support, a Factory Droid plugin, a session-transcript requirement for new-harness PRs, and several Codex-track fixes (install guidance, marketplace-metadata preservation, OpenCode integration tests). Jesse Vincent merged much of it, alongside four distinct outside contributors with one PR each — Sathvik-1007 (Gemini CLI subagent support), starumiQAQ (Windows SessionStart-hook fix), leonsong09 (a Codex subagent-wait-mapping doc fix), and Skyline-9 (Factory Droid plugin support).
obra/superpowers-chrome
A Claude Code plugin for direct Chrome control via the DevTools Protocol.
7 commits +2,788 −2,528A foundational refactor, not yet user-facing: every consumer migrated off a module-level singleton onto a createSession() factory, clearing the way for a per-session createOverride() factory for isolation. Sole contributor: Matt Windbrook.
prime-radiant-inc/sprout
An experimental self-improving multi-agent coding system.
159 commits +43,665 −7,552The week continued sprout’s memory-relationship work: atomic incorporation of extracted memories, relationship classification during incorporation, link-direction preservation, and discovery of links for new memory batches. Sole contributor: Jesse Vincent.
prime-radiant-inc/gauntlet
An AI-powered QA testing framework.
89 commits +14,506 −1,350Multi-pass runs arrived: a RunSet orchestrator (a cards-by-attempts loop), set-level WebSocket broadcasting, a cancel-token registry, a --passes CLI flag, and a /run-sets/:id web page. Sole contributor: Matt Windbrook.
prime-radiant-inc/ts-libghostty
TypeScript bindings around Ghostty’s VT state machine.
37 commits +12,526 −795“bobbihack”: a NetHack-playing coding-agent demo built up in phases — journal and query tools, autopilot navigation, a compaction-and-cost module, and a 51-turn periodic-compaction integration test. Sole contributor: Matt Windbrook.
A pair of one-commit housekeeping changes rounded out the week: claude-plugin-stats recovered a data file from an Arq backup, and github-triage reframed its triage prompt to treat bug reports as bug reports rather than product defects — both from Jesse Vincent.
