The widest week: releases across the board, and the whole org gets mapped

The widest week of the eight, and for two different reasons. Part of it is a genuine surge: obol, agentic-usage-meter, and superpowers-chrome all cut releases, awesome-superpowers opened, and serf logged its third consecutive four-figure-commit week. The other part is a single deliberate event — on August 6, an org-wide sweep added a service-catalog entry (catalog-info.yaml + ABOUT.md) to nearly every repo at once, one “docs(map)” commit each. That’s why the active-repo count jumps. We count both honestly below, and we’re careful not to let the sweep stand in for per-repo product work.

The week in numbers

  • 30 repos active (4 featured, 26 also shipped)
  • 1,650 commits
  • 26 merged PRs
  • +584,215 / −522,289 lines
  • 9 commit identities
  • 10 tagged releases

prime-radiant-inc/serf

A non-interactive coding agent: give it a prompt and it reads, writes, runs commands, and searches code in a loop until the work is done, using native tool-calling across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models.

1,063 commits +257,166 −296,659

A third consecutive four-figure-commit week, all direct push. A task-list panel redesign in the web UI — rows grouped by status, latest updates inline, a progress header, timezone-safe timestamps — and a substantial piece of work on recoverable, retained tool output for the agent: bounded retained-output readers, paging and search over that output, artifacts scoped to session trees, and a hardened artifact-lifecycle cleanup.

obra/superpowers

An agentic skills framework and software-development methodology that works.

0 commits 20 PRs

Zero direct commits, all of it landing through squash-merged PRs — and the throughline is real: Hermes Agent harness support (eval-verified bootstrap) plus a run of SDD reliability fixes. Event-driven bounded waits drove wait-timeouts down to effectively none, small same-shape tasks now batch into one dispatch, “rule and continue” ledgers a ruling for non-catastrophic conflicts instead of blocking with a question, and a guard keeps dispatched subagents from dispatching further subagents. Devin CLI support landed too, along with multi-agent guidance corrected against the Codex source and docs-navigation improvements.

obra/winpepper

Windows-native local dictation: hold a hotkey, speak, release, and cleaned-up words appear in the focused app — all local.

121 commits +27,410 −3,518

The big story is an ASR engine switch: a move to a “nemotron-first” pipeline (multilingual Nemotron 3.5 as the primary streaming model, Parakeet demoted to an optional backup), a new worker-process architecture with kill/respawn supervision, and an onboarding model-picker with background downloads. Once the new pipeline landed, the week closed with cleanup — deleting dead provisioning services, fixing an engine-load failure message, and evidence-backed verification. Mostly outside contributor Dan Shapiro again.

prime-radiant-inc/superpowers-evals

A behavioral eval lab (Quorum) that drives real coding-agent CLIs through a QA agent and grades them on workflow compliance.

94 commits 1 PR +212,945 −199,992

A statistical self-correction worth calling out: Fisher tests, a matched-cell token median, and an explicit retraction of an earlier overclaim, alongside token and wall-time deltas showing an opus-5 arm carrying real overhead. The lab also shipped a way to import locally-run eval results onto the shared appliance — a scrubbed-bundle export/import path — plus a fix excluding vendored dependencies from campaign exports (the source of this week’s line-count bulge).

prime-radiant-inc/superpowers-autoresearch

The automated-research harness for running experiment campaigns against the superpowers methodology.

187 commits +35,134 −436

A “compounding-trap” experiment battery with signature-first designs and binary ground truth, plus an anti-appeasement probe that returned an honest “INCONCLUSIVE-BY-BASE-RATE” verdict rather than forcing a result. The research harness declining to manufacture a finding is itself the finding worth trusting.

prime-radiant-inc/teststrip

A macOS photo-culling app — catalog-first, non-destructive, AI-assisted. Early development; not ready for use.

40 commits +11,808 −1,432

A “unified shell” design spec and a multi-task plan to consolidate the app’s views into one shell — planned before building. And an autopilot “ghost” refactor that dropped a persisted autopilot_proposals table in favor of deriving suggestion badges and review-queue state directly from asset metadata: a run persists nothing, and undo just replays the in-memory group.

obra/lace

A lightweight agentic coding environment.

19 commits 3 PRs +1,614 −91

Container-lifecycle work: kill the in-container process tree on abort, adopt existing containers on resume, allow empty-workspace resume, and pin persona across a delegate resume. The model catalog gained claude-opus-5, and a cached Anthropic catalog that was shadowing new static metadata got fixed.

The rest of the week’s active repos — including clipfan, superpowers-docs, homebrew-tap, llm-proxy, stockyard, sprout, slackline, openai-codex-plugins, greenfield, books-for-bots, toil, and agent-plugin-linear-use — show up in the active count only because of the August 6 catalog sweep; their sole commit that week was the docs(map) entry, with no product changes to report. A few had a little real activity underneath it: gauntlet landed a TUI grace-period fix (grace descendants after kill-server, before SIGKILL), dotfiles iterated on Jesse’s CLAUDE.md, superpowers-marketplace tracked the superpowers-chrome releases, and code-of-conduct merged the prior week’s Contributor Covenant adaptation. terminal-bench-analysis and claude-plugin-stats ran their usual bot-only rebuilds.
